How simple (if possible) is it to take an origionally fs2004 model and make it a native fsx one? I know their are some things that need to be added texture wise, but I am not sure on what to do.

Hi Jordan You can't my friend see, both formats indeed are diferent, the new one is extraodinary realistic, and impresive, many new features ,BUT there was one thing in fs2004 SDK which made it b better that the newer FSX native model, there is no way to Import an mdl file from FS2009 SDK old format to 3dmax or gmax ,which was good to protect the designers original work. I'm seing many people importing in the new FSX-SDK format VCs and exterior parts to modified ,re-map and modified other's work and then release them as they own made ,I'm my personal opinion I think this was the biggest mistake of the whole FSX ,this is very dissapointing BTW , Now I'm the one who wish MS to make a new MSFS version with a better SDK

So I can not do it even if I have the gmax files? ;D Oviously yes ,if you already have the gmax file, but you can't import FS9-SDK files from mdl to *.3ds to convert them into gmax or max files You also have to make sure where is that file comes from if you thinking to release it ,because if that model belongs to another designer ,you might get in trouble , remember all the trouble I had with the 727 with the stolen files which at the end wasn't true and the last citation X I made who someone came claiming I stole the whole model ,and was a single photo of the landing gear..remember all the scandal??

Yes I remember it! And I would have permission from the author because, I'm the one making it! Click my signature and see I'm doing the sounds for the 737-300
