Hi. I just recently downloaded the 727-200 and would like to make my own custom liveries for it. I am new to repainting and have yet to finish my first one. So far every tutorial I seen requires paintkits to follow along. I read in another thread in this forum that a good painter do not need paintkits and I think I can understand why. I originally came to this site looking for any repaints for the 727-200 but also for a paintkit. I imagine that it would be easier for me to know how to repaint a plane from scratch and save myself the trouble of searching for kits and worrying about finding repaints for the specific model etc. Is there a comprehensive tutorial on how to repaint without a paintkit that I can follow? Thanks in advance. By the way, this is my first post here and would like to say I love the plane (727-200) and great job.

Being a good painter for enigmasim, I can tell you it is actually quite easy to repaint if you know about layers. They are the most important part of making a paintkit. Usually a bare minimum amount of layes is three. One for windows and doors, one for shadows and shine, and one for the actual paint. Also depending on the program you use, you can create a lot of different effects.
I had actually started a painkit for alex's 727, but never got to finish it.
