NOBODY!!!!!! Is calling you a thieve! As I said before you edidted my posts here and deleted them!? I was only making an OBSERVATION; But if this is the way you take a little critisism; We don't all have the same rigs and specification and the results vary from machine to machine, That a given... Quite the contrary I have always said to you here in the open forum and personally that the models you make are wonderful and I am grateful for your efforts in making them and putting them for Free for the enjoyment of all; NO Need to victimize yourself because of what I said. And if I have offended you in any way Alejandro I apologize here publicly deeply: " I am Trully Sorry"

Yes I been (Not by you),and many times Lopez , when I made the B727 I was unfairly accuse to STEAL the textures(the AA textures) was a huge scandal ,I even delete my own account in Simv the guy apologyse, later was the B707 which was a lot much worse,This same year to Steal some of the Gauges ,I din't steal anything these where gauge from a panel and was a freeware ; I name Its designer but eventhough the scandal and problems came up for something I do not earn Money ,I do not get benefit of any kind. I know your intention are good Lopez ,I ask my apologies for exploding myself that way,.. but if you knew how difficult its to make this things ,I sometimes don't even sleep in an entire night, there a lot of efford behind this models ,efford that doesn't look like ,But there is and a lot more than you can imagine ,and if you knew how many times people complaint for things aren't even there in a way like if the would paid to me and I own it to them.. When you said Issue It did sounds to me like the planes doesn't work which would be an issue , before every release I always make sure in several other machines and by other users that planes are fine ,I being doing this since the first plane I made a B717 4 years ago. People came to me all the time they don't read me the Read me file and pretends that these 2048x2048 texture runs Perfect on a onboards systems, over and over www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1220723559they seems like they were looking for issues www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1219708019another example ;people get me to offend me thru my email because of the Doll I place as a copilot ,Please check closely this thread and take a look the Lufthnsa model www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1217289881there are many more absurd thread like this one ,I'm just got tired Bernardo ,I'm not even anwering my email with NON sense complaints, Sorry to blast like this Right Now I'm trying to stay away from the PC and reorganize my own life ,I have stop the making airplane ,but francly this is addictive hobby too ,You forget all about your REAL troubles and concentrate all while I'm making a plane, this is not good ,I'm passing thru bad situation in my country and personal life . People have to understand that this are FSX-SDK-SP2 airplanes ,people have to understand that they are free ,If I put a Doll in the copilot seat Its because I like it that way ,there is no obligation to make it other way ,I don't get paid Its the way I want it, Besides this is now a protection because I also have found that there a re 3d software capable to import Mdl and do what ever they want with someone else models.. I'm sorry for the way I post the last thread ,I can't delete it,its like Hide to what I did, and I really really hope all this situation goes away to resume the making of the Electra.. Alejandro

Lets not add more fuel to the fire, Alejandro, I understand better now, I apologize for my ignorance in what is at stake when making a model and putting up with all these things you've posted above. As you say lets get on with life and the L188 I too was a little critical of the copilot until you explained why she's there and now I can understand and respect your desicion in leaving her there. ;D...And I now understand. My card doesn't display 2048X2048,sorry for any inconvenience this post may have cost.

Well said there Alejandro That really explains alot... most of us don't realize the patience and dedication it takes to make any of these models. Its good to see the both of you reaching some common ground in this post and explaining things. Hope all goes well with modelling! Victor

I own a Cessna 310N model and have been looking for a 310 for FSX. This is a great version, while the Q has different engines and panel, the performance is very close and will be a great sim for practicing approaches that I will be flying. Thank you for putting this on the web for us to use.
Do you know if there are any Garmin 430 panels out there? I am a web programmer and know C# and Vb but have never done any sim stuff. How hard is it to modify panels on these aircraft? I would like to learn how to customize this aircraft so that I can configure it like my actual panel for obvious reasons. I would assume that the various gauges and switches are object that can be manipulated.
Thanks - Barry

Panel manipulation is pretty straight forward for 2-D panels.. but the gauges in many virtual cockpits are modeled into position.
When you look at a panel.cgf.. you'll see a set of coordinates after each gauge entry:
gauge01=KingAir!Attitude, 176,7,196,183
The first two are the upper-left starting point (x,y) for the gauge.. anything after that defines the size (x,y).
No size entries places the gauge at its default size.. One size entry is like a diameter for round gauges. It works on rectangular gauges as well (by squaring them). You can also display round gauges elliptically, by giving them x,y sizes..

What happened to the L-188? Is it finished; I was expecting to find it here?...I haven't been to the forum for a while.

Alejandro, I read this is the place for questions and sharing experiences, so I thought I might, if you don't mind..... I have been flying your C-310Q since I installed it last August, it fills my needs very well. You did a very nice job on the plane and its flight dynamics. Recently on a late afternoon IFR flight from Toronto to Pontiac KPTK, I noticed an anomaly , the real-time weather turned into a blizzard and with the onset of evening, I turned on the panel lights in the VC. At that point I noticed the Manifold and RPM scales on the gauges change. The scale of the manifold gauge is from 0-30 during the day and 10-75 at dusk/night... but only with the panel lights on. The RPM scale stays the same but the green arc shifts from 15-25 to 17-23 at night. The green arcs on the fuel pressure gauge changes from 18-26 psi in the daylight, to 4-6 psi at night but only with the panel lights on. The needles however, do not change with the different scales and arcs. Cruising at 22 inches of mercury during the day, changed to 43 inches indicated with the needles staying at 2 o'clock. This is not a big thing for me as I have been flying for many years and can tell pretty much where my engines are at by their sound and feel ( I also have a Butt Kicker attached to my pilot seat). After reading some of the above threads I thought you might like some interesting and puzzling feedback. I've taken the liberty to look in the cfg's and air file, but can't seem to locate anything that looks like a trigger that would require both night time environment and the panel lights to change the scale and arcs on these 4 gauges. In fact I haven't been able to even find two different arc limits or gauge faces. I only have a few utilities and some of them I know little if anything about. I'm a pilot, and like to leave the design and adjustments to those who have skills and artistic abilities in their preferred fields I love the 310Q and will continue to use it for my default aircraft. Back in November we had a 310 make an emergency landing out in California, it was all over the news, and is now all over YouTube. Just show my friends that it is serious but not all that difficult, I used your 310Q to re-enact the landing an posted my video up on YouTube as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fILDC-KUZEA&eurl=http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit2&feature=player_embeddedA little early in my film career but your plane helped make the point. Thanks for the 310Q and your contribution to the 'hobby'. Keep up the good work. By the by, I'm FSX Acceleration, on Vista 64 displaying through a GEforce 7800 but I don't think that would have an impact on the gauge scales.

Hi n50486 Yeah.. that's a glitch that I'm going to get around to addressing soon. I just finished modeling a Saab 340, so I'm taking a break. Anyway.. what it is, is that I used some gauges from the default Goose. Then, "hacked" the XML code to modify the needle ranges.. and then made new background bitmaps. What I overlooked, was that there are TWO bitmaps per gauge (one for day, one for night)..I never modified the night bitmap.. I just viewed tha video.. very interesting

Brett,
The gauges were the only glitch I found in your plane, so my hat is still off to you. The C-310 still flies beautiful. I've got 32 hours in your C-310Q since I installed it in Sept., 6 hrs at night and .8 IFR, (hard to get much IMC time with ATC even using realtime weather) when I first noticed the multiple gauge scales I started doubting my memory. Thanks for the explanation, I think I understand the process. But it doesn't sound like a cfg setting so its beyond me. After my first post, I started rummaging around and found some pre-release screen shots from you climbing out of Mackinaw Island. Nice country up there. I used to fly into Cheboygan in my full scale C-150 to visit the ol'folks. But as Grandpa used to say, "Them days are gone."
I'll check out your Saab 340, one of my Marine Corp buddy's wife was a flight attendant on a Mesaba 340B out of KDTW. Maybe I'll get to see what that was like.
Thanks again for the explanation. I'll keep flying your planes, if you keep designing 'em.
Rick

Yeah.. it's not a simple cfg fix. You have to open up the gauge.cab file... extract the bitmap.. edit it with something like PaintShopPro.. and the put it back in the cab file. Cab-file editing software is inside the FSX/SDK.. or a payware program like PanelStudio allows for bitmap editing (if you ever feel brave)..
Cheboygan, hu ? I live in Trout Lake (30 miles NW of THE bridge).. Been in/out of KSLH many times.. and fly to the Island pretty regularly.
ANYway.. I'll post back here when I fix that.. Thanks for the kind assessment..

Well, I guess I'm one with an underpowered graphics card as I can't get the textures to show (see pic). I have a Radeon X1950Pro, but with only 256mb video memory. I have 3GB system memory. I'm the desktop at 1440x900 and run FSX in windowed mode (because of other addons). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to convert the textures down to 1024 so that it would appear correctly on my system. It's a truley lovely plane I'd love to be able to see on my system.

the problem is in the video card phantoms, Its can even work with a 128 mb video ram memory ,its the speed of renderizing ,the images are big for better quality details , try something for me please , download any of the other models the Saab 340, the Citation 500 or Citation X and tell me does it shows like this too? I been suspecting that problably something whent wrong (maybe is just a posibiliity) I being watching too many people with this same issue ,I promise I will help you with this airplane go to our Downlaod section and pic any one of the one I mention above that has also 2048x2048 dds bitmaps www.simviation.com/fsnd/Downloads.htmI be waiting you reply Alejandro Rojas L.

The issued pictured here, is most definately a video-card problem.. even to the extent that the animated parts get moved around..
See where the door is ?

You can open the textures with DXTBmp, "send them to the editor", and resize them.. but puting them all back together (with alphas etc) is tricky.
If this interests you.. I'd advise that you start simple, and learn basic FSX repainting techniques.. It's more tedious than difficult, but a lot of fun ..
