Engine start up

I'm having difficulties starting the engines in the MD80. I tried the FSX controls "crtl E' and I've tried Starting the apu by first turning on battery power, then turning on the apu switch to start, but it stays on start, it does not snap back to run. The N2 stays on 24, never moves. The start switches don't do anything.

I read all the read me and the pdf, but no procedure to start.

its and MD-83 , I really don't know what could be ,I haven't heard any problem about the starting of it , I ran myself a manual starting sequence and it started fine and so I also did with the control +e and no problem at all, I did this after reading this post ,however this airplane have thousands of downlaod without complaints
